Giving Programs

SCHOOL REWARDS PROGRAMS MAKE IT EASY TO SUPPORT StJB!

Our school greatly depends on our parents, teachers and parishioners to participate and volunteer. Volunteering can be anything from cutting out letters for teachers, to working at an game or organizing events.  If you have a special talent and are interested in volunteering for any events throughout the year, please contact Home and School Coordinator, Donnette Koelzer, at [email protected].

RaiseRight, formerly Scrip:

RaiseRight allows parishioners to purchase SCRIP cards (gift cards) at face value while giving back a percentage of the sales to the church.  By purchasing gift cards through RaiseRight, our church will earn money back from the purchase. RaiseRight cards will often generate a 3% or better rebate. Some retailers even give back even 10%. A complete list of vendor choices is located in the church commons, or online at www.raiseright.com. By purchasing a $100 gift card, you can help the parish and school receive $14!

You can participate in the program the following ways:

  1. Either order & pre-pay online (this includes reloads or printable coupons, for certain cards)
  2. Order & pre-pay at a weekend Mass
  3. Order & pre-pay at the church office during regular work hours, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Order by Monday 10a.m. and cards will be ready the following Thursday afternoon. Indicate on the order form whether you will pick up cards at the church office or at the RaiseRight table at a weekend Mass. Cards can also be sent home in a StJB student’s backpack if requested. A complete list of vendor choices is located in the church commons.
  4. You can also order gift cards online. Simply go to www.raiseright.com and click “Sign-up.” Then, click on “Join an existing Program.” Use will need to use our card in order for the school to earn money back from your purchase. The code is 94CDB8B59635 to link your account with the Church of the Holy Spirit. You can choose to pay for your cards online or leave your payment with the church or school office by 10 a.m. Using Presto Pay is the preferred way to eliminate errors.

The RaiseRight Coordinator, Noni Thiesen, welcomes any phone calls (402-296-3139) or email ([email protected]) from anyone who has questions about signing up or about the program in general.  Please do not let unanswered questions prevent you from participating in this program that can greatly benefit our church!

Engraved Garden Bricks

An engraved memorial brick can be an enduring piece of St. John’s school history. The bricks line the walkway through our beautiful outdoor garden, located between the school entrance and the church. The cost for an engraved brick is $50.

Engraved bricks include three lines with 14 characters per line (spaces and punctuation count as characters). Order forms are located in the parish commons and school office, or you can download a form by clicking here.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees. Check with your employer’s Hunan Resources Department to find out if they have a matching gift program. Be sure to find out if their matching gift program supports religious organizations. If not, they most likely will support education and scholarship programs like the school’s St. John the Baptist Tuition Assistance Fund. If so, request a matching gift them, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to our Parish school may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
