We are excited to welcome Ms. Amanda (Mandy) Bair to our StJB staff. Mandy will serve as our new music teacher beginning next year,
Mandy earned a BM in instrumental and vocal music education from Nebraska Wesleyan University and an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. As a long-time resident of the Plattsmouth community, she’s thrilled to join the St. John the Baptist School family this fall. In addition to teaching at STJB, Mandy will also continue serving as the adjunct professor of Elementary Music Methods at Peru State College.
From 2006 to 2023, Mandy was the elementary general music and elementary band specialist at Conestoga Public Schools. Prior to working with elementary students, she served as the Conestoga band director for just under a decade. Mandy started her teaching career as the band director for Humphrey Public Schools.
In addition to teaching, Mandy has been a member of The Nebraska Ambassadors of Music staff since 1997, where she supervises thousands of Nebraska high school students as they travel across western Europe in the summertime performing musical concerts. In her spare time, Mandy enjoys spending her free time traveling, golfing, reading, and doting on her two rescue dogs named Yogi and Smokey.
Please extend a warm Cardinal welcome to Mandy!
