Our 5-8th grade Classroom Speech Winners participated in the second-round Speech Contest yesterday, sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America. Students shared presentations on the topic “Challenges Youth Face.”
Congratulations to the following second-round WINNERS — these students will advance to the District Speech Contest on April 10, 2019 hosted at our school.
5th-6th Grade Winners:
1st Place – Piper Isham, 6th grade
2nd Place – Claire Laney, 6th Grade
3rd Place – Brooklyn Walton, 5th Grade
7-8th Grade Winners:
1st Place – Emily Zitek, 7th Grade
2nd Place – Isabella Hajek-Jones, 8th Grade
3rd Place – Ben Laney, 8th Grade
Each winner received a plaque and gold award pin. The winners’ names will also be added to the speech contest plaque for the school’s trophy case.
Modern Woodmen’s School Speech Contest is one of six free Youth Educational Programs Modern Woodmen offers to schools nationwide. Over 100,000 students compete in the contest each year.
