We are pleased to announce that Mr. Mark Zulkoski will be joining St. John the Baptist family as our new principal. His start date will be June 1, 2023.
Mark has extensive teaching and administrative experience working in both Catholic and public schools in urban, suburban, and rural areas. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a bachelor of arts in education, a master of arts in education, with an emphasis in educational leadership and educational specialist. Mark also has a master of arts from Doane College in curriculum and instruction.
Mark and his wife Lisa of 23 years, have three children and a dog – a daughter Ana (age 20 and attends college in Chicago), Joe (age 16 and attends Papillion LaVista High School for their trades programming), and Sophie (age 13 and will attend Skutt next fall), and a little Shih Tzu named Zoey (age unknown, as she is a rescue of a rescue).
Mark has a deep love for his Catholic faith. He and his family are parishioners of Mary Our Queen Catholic Church in Omaha, where all of his children also attended elementary and middle school. Over the years, Mark and his wife have volunteered in various roles at Mary Our Queen including EMHC, youth sports coach, fish fries, creators of Mustang March (the schools main fundraiser), and building/grounds/gardens. In his spare time, Mark enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending time with his family.
