Eighth grader Kameron Monahan was crowned school champion of the St John the Baptist National Geographic Bee held on Friday, December 16.  The school Bee, at which students answered questions on geography, was the first round in the 29th annual National Geographic Bee.  Kameron will now take a qualifying test for the state Bee which will be held on March 31, 2017 at the University of Nebraska Omaha.  Zach Tesarek was the school runner-up and Mackenzie Ludwig finished third. Thirty-nine students competed initially to determine ten finalists.  From those ten finalists, the winner was determined in an exciting finish to the competition.   Congratulations to the finalists and winner!
