Our eighth graders recently spent the morning learning about the design and construction of the Newman Center in Lincoln, NE. Architect Kevin Clark explained the process that was used to select the Saints pictured in the beautiful stained class windows. After attending Mass celebrated by Father Loras Grell, students visited the Capitol and were given a private tour of the Nebraska Supreme Court courtroom and chambers by Supreme Court Justice, Jeffery Funke. A highlight of the trip occurred when the students were allowed to sit in the justices’ seats and try on their robes. The students also were introduced to Supreme Court Chief Justice, Michael Heavican, who visited with the students and answered questions they had about the court.
