With planning for the 2019-20 school year and registration now underway, I wanted to take this opportunity to announce the following changes to staff for the coming school year.

Three school staff, combining a total of 77 years of service to our school, will be retiring at the end of the school year:

Mrs. Yankus

Monica Yankus, kindergarten teacher with 24 years of service

Mrs. Reinsch

Pam Reinsch, eighth grade teacher with 22 years of service

Mrs, Ksiazek

Carla Ksiazek, school secretary with 31 years of service

Mrs. Cich

In addition, Katherine Cich, first grade teacher, will not be returning next year. Katherine has decided to focus more time on
her family and will be staying at home with her son. She has been with our school for three years.

Please join me in thanking all of these individuals for their tireless contributions and dedication to our school. They have touched the hearts of many school families over the years and will leave a lasting impression on our school. While we will dearly miss them, we are excited for them to begin their next chapter in life and we wish them much happiness.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Christie Owens as kindergarten teacher and Mary Tilson as school secretary, beginning next school year. Christie is a St. John’s alumna and began her teaching career here in 2002. She currently teaches our pre-school three-year-old students. Prior to teaching pre-school, Christie was a third grade teacher. Mary Tilson, also an alumna of St. John’s, has spent the last year managing the childcare program for the school. In addition to her current role, she will also assume the responsibilities as school secretary,

Please join me in congratulating Christie and Mary on their new positions and please offer your support to them as they begin their new roles.

As you may be aware, these changes result in three open teaching positions for next year: pre-school teacher (three and four year olds), first grade teacher and eighth grade teacher. We will begin our search to fill these positions immediately. The positions will both be posted internally and externally and we expect to fill them by the end of the school year,
