Our 8th grade float was awarded high honors at this year’s Harvest Festival. They received a first place trophy in the Friday afternoon Kiddie and Merchants’ Parade, and for the Grand Parade Saturday night they were awarded two trophies:  Best of Theme and King and Queen’s Choice. The students were dressed in costumes that reflected elements of Nebraska’s “Good Life” (creations/inventions from Nebraska).  We had a Runza, Dorothy Lynch salad dressing, Father Flanagan, a peacock from the Henry Doorly Zoo, Bess Streeter Aldrich, a  Nebraska football player, an officer from Strategic Air Command, a piece of Valentino’s pizza, a pitcher of Kool-Aid, a bumblebee (state insect) and a farmer.
